SuperApp Inc., formerly Instabase Inc., today announced the launch of its flagship product of the same name and its transition from Instabase to the new name.
The new platform provides teams with a Slack-like communication interface on the web, iOS, Android and Windows, with a document library similar to Google Docs and deep access to artificial intelligence models from well-known artificial intelligence companies, including OpenAI Group PBC, Anthropic PBC and Google LLC.
Users do not need to pick which model to access for efficiency, reasoning, knowledge and cost. The underlying routing will choose the appropriate AI model for the task. The company said users can also select a preferred model or compare models in the same context.
SuperApp is designed around freedom of model choice, data and cloud. The objective is to allow users to adopt a model without rebuilding applications or moving data, and to avoid architectural or vendor lock-in.
“The best AI will keep changing. Your work should not have to,” said founder and Chief Executive Anant Bhardwaj. “SuperApp lets organizations switch models, control their data and choose how they deploy without losing the context or record behind the work. Freedom is not a feature. It is the foundation.”
Superbase was founded as Instabase in 2015 and raised more than $250 million, including a $100 million Series D round in early 2025 led by the Qatar Investment Authority. The company said the transition marks a new product and a new company direction centered on AI collaboration, away from its original vision of unstructured data processing, not a rebrand of Instabase AI Hub. The AI Hub will continue to provide support and use SuperApp technology under the hood.
The company said SuperApp operates under the premise that too many users work in one place and talk to AI chats in another. This “context switching” causes them to lose the fruits of their work when collaborating. Research should be a team effort, which means AI needs to be part of the team and embedded in the flow of work.
As SuperApp puts AI right within the chat itself, where the team talks it out, it can be researched, reviewed, briefed, previewed, presented and then stored for later. This creates a durable record of the entire work that can serve as a guidepost without losing the thinking that led to the final answer and the outcomes as well.
“AI has largely been built for one person at a time, but meaningful work is done by teams,” said Bhardwaj. “A private chatbot gives one person an answer. SuperApp gives the entire team and the world’s leading AI models one shared place to turn an idea into finished work.”
