Prego, the pasta sauce company, is getting into hardware with a device that sits on your table and records dinner conversations. No, this isn’t April Fools’.The Connection Keeper is a round puck that houses two microphones for recording around the table. The recorder was developed in partnership with StoryCorps, the 20-year-old nonprofit that has recorded conversations with more than 720,000 people about their lives. The Connection Keeper is more of a publicity stunt than a readily available product. Fewer than 100 will be made. The pucks look more like a tuna can than what you’d associate with the pasta sauce brand—small…
We heard all about GoPro’s new action camera series last week, but the company is now unveiling the pricing across its Mission 1, Mission 1 Pro and Mission 1 Pro ILS cameras. The entry-level Mission 1 ($600) features GoPro’s new 50-megapixel 1-inch sensor, which the company says will offer a major leap in image quality and low-light performance over the Hero 13 line. While largely looking the same as the Hero series (and still waterproof), the Mission 1 can record 8K video at 30fps and 4K at 120fps. It lacks the higher frame rates of the other Mission 1 cameras,…
The theme of NTT Research Inc.‘s annual user event, Upgrade, in San Jose this week was “Research to Reality,” a reflection of NTT’s desire to balance the academic nature of research with the practicality of ensuring the outcome is something customers can use and benefit from. One of the more interesting sessions was a fireside chat moderated by Vab Goel (pictured, right), a founding partner at NTT Venture Capital; Chris Shaw (left), chief marketing officer of NTT Research; and Jordan Topoleski (center), chief operating officer of Cursor, an AI-powered code editor and one of the fastest-growing companies in the AI era. Given that coding…
It’s a concept that both scares and delights: the possibility that aging might not be an inevitable human fate, as was once assumed. It seemed like the kind of thing that only exists in science fiction along with flying cars and teleportation for the foreseeable future. Now though, we have a new and rapidly growing tool for doing just that: artificial intelligence.Researchers and other experts are currently suggesting that artificial intelligence is capable of solving one of the hardest questions in biology, how to decelerate, halt and reverse the process of ageing itself. This is not necessarily about making us live…

Everyone is obsessed with CPL, but the revenue graveyard is full of cheap leads. What happens when you stop buying clicks and build a sustainable SaaS moat? Most SaaS performance marketing is just a high-speed way to burn through a Series C round. Companies treat their ad spend like a box to check, much like they treat media production. They hire agencies to chase clicks, celebrate a lower CPL, and ignore the fact that their sales team is drowning in “leads” that have no intention of buying. It is a distraction from the real problem. The truth is that most…
Started by three NUS students, Juno Jane gained traction through TikTok virality Not many students can run a business alongside their studies, but three Gen Z founders have found a way to make it work. Sophia Poh, 24, Kayleigh Low, 22, and Wanzhen Li, 22, are the trio behind Juno Jane, a Singapore-based handbag brand they founded while studying at the National University of Singapore (NUS). The idea was born from classroom conversations, which eventually grew into a full-fledged business that has since achieved six-figure revenue and shipped to over 40 countries, all while the founders balanced university coursework. The…
Intel’s next-gen CPUs are starting to look… kinda ridiculous. And in this case, that’s a good thing. A fresh Nova Lake leak has spilled a ton of details, and if even half of it holds up, Intel might be gearing up for a serious comeback in high-end desktop CPUs. Nova Lake leak shows Intel going all-in on cache The biggest headline here is cache. A lot of it. The leaked lineup, courtesy of reliable leaker Jaykihn on X, suggests Intel’s top-end Nova Lake chip could pack up to 288MB of total cache, which is actually more than what AMD currently…

Every time I’ve written about Meta’s AI-enabled glasses, I invariably get asked these questions: Why do you even want these? Why do you want smart glasses that can play music or misidentify native flora in a weirdly cheery voice? I am a lifelong Ray-Ban Wayfarer wearer, and I’m also WIRED’s resident Meta wearer. I grab a pair of Meta glasses whenever I leave the house because I like being able to use one device instead of two or three on a walk. With Meta glasses, I can wear sunglasses and workout headphones in one!Meta sold more than 7 million pairs…
