The AI vulnerability storm changes the speed and scale of the threat. It does not change the fundamentals of good security. Your five NIST functions still matter. The gap between attacker speed and defender speed is real. You will not close it by working harder. You will close it by building differently.Hello Cyber Builders 🖖Mythos made headlines on social media recently. Public cybersecurity company valuations dropped. The market responded to the idea that if AI can replicate what CrowdStrike and Tenable built in years, the value proposition changes. The argument is strong. I see why it affects the market. But this view…
Retrenchments and restructures are continuing to hit Singapore in 2026, as businesses grapple with rising operating costs, softer consumer demand, and growing geopolitical uncertainty stemming from the Iran war. According to a recent Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) survey, 96 per cent of businesses reported facing increased operating costs due to higher energy prices. These pressures have squeezed profit margins, pushing more firms towards hiring freezes, restructures, and even layoffs. Here are some of the layoffs that have affected Singapore in 2026. 1. For people who are hard of hearing, sign language isn’t just a communication tool; it’s their primary language. The problem is that sign language is not taught to people with regular hearing, thus creating a barrier that’s hard to bridge. Now, a team of researchers in South Korea may have just found a surprisingly elegant solution to this age-old problem. According to a new study published in Science Advances, the system, called WRSLT (wirelessly connected, ring-type sign language translator), can recognize and translate both American Sign Language and International Sign Language words with around 88% accuracy. And yes, it works…
Sam Altman at OpenAI DevDay in San Francisco in November 2023. (GeekWire File Photo / Todd Bishop) Sam Altman faced pointed questions Tuesday about his personal financial ties to Helion Energy, the Everett, Wash., fusion startup that’s aiming to supply vast amounts of energy to both OpenAI and Microsoft to power future data centers for artificial intelligence. Testifying in the Musk v. Altman trial in Oakland, the OpenAI CEO confirmed under cross-examination that he owns roughly one-third of Helion, a stake valued at approximately $1.65 billion as of late 2025, according to financial disclosures in the case. Altman, who left…
As they say, the only things you can’t escape in life are death and taxes. Doing your own taxes has only gotten easier over the years but it’s still plenty confusing, especially with both federal and state rules and rates always in flux. To help you figure out this confusing process, I’ve written a guide on How to Pay Your Taxes Online, and included H&R Block and other competitors to give you more information as you navigate between the seemingly endless options available for your specific tax needs. Tax day may not be until April 15 but as we all…
Google on Tuesday unveiled a new opt-in Android feature called Intrusion Logging for storing forensic logs to better analyze sophisticated spyware attacks. Intrusion Logging, available as part of Advanced Protection Mode, enables “persistent and privacy-preserving forensics logging to allow for investigation of devices in the event of a suspected compromise,” the company said. The feature, it added, was developed in partnership with Amnesty International and Reporters Without Borders. According to a help document shared by Google, it logs device and network activities on a daily basis, including information about device behavior and the various applications that run on it. The…
“Artificial intelligence is not just for computer scientists anymore; it’s going to permeate every aspect of our lives and influence every business,” says MIT President Sally Kornbluth. The world is reaching an inflection point with artificial intelligence: over half of U.S. adults use generative AI — with 12 percent using it daily at work — and 88 percent of global organizations have integrated AI into at least one core function, up from 78 percent in 2024. AI knowledge is no longer optional for career growth, organizational leadership, and life. Yet, a growing information gap exists between those with the capabilities to leverage AI’s potential…
OpenAI Group PBC co-founder and Chief Executive Sam Altman faced the witness stand today in the high-stakes trial that could determine the future of the company. Elon Musk is suing the company and its leaders, alleging that Altman and OpenAI president Greg Brockman betrayed the founding mission to serve humanity by turning a nonprofit into a money-making venture. Musk wants Altman replaced as CEO, and up to $180 billion in damages to be paid to from the nonprofit arm of OpenAI to come from the for-profit arm. OpenAI has hit back, saying Musk seeks revenge in a market where he…
iRacing iRacing is ready for its Vision Pro debut. The immersive racing simulator is now available for Apple’s augmented reality headset, with the iRacing Connect app arriving in the App Store. This is a fittingly fast turnaround for the motorsport game, considering the Vision Pro port was just announced in March. But it may not be feasible for every racing fan to immediately take advantage of, because the spec requirements are, understandably, pretty beefy. Assuming you’ve already got the Apple Vision Pro headset at home, it will need to be…
Spatial computing in gaming has been bound to head-mounted devices for the past several years. While virtual reality (VR) headsets, augmented reality (AR) glasses, and mixed-reality wearables have dominated the marketplace in virtual gaming, many continue to suffer the problems their early counterparts had, which include the complexity of setup, the comfort of the device, and the isolation one must be in when using the device. Today’s engineers and designers in the display industry are looking to bypass wearable hardware entirely. An example of this comes from the ZIMO1 interactive light-field display by Zondision, which utilizes screen-based options for 3D…
