Key Takeaways Packet-level visibility strengthens cloud forensics investigations by providing deeper network context. Metadata analytics combined with deep session inspection improves detection accuracy. Network-centric approaches enhance cloud network detection and response effectiveness. Strong evidence visibility supports compliance readiness and confident incident response. Cloud adoption has transformed how organizations deploy applications, store data, and manage infrastructure. However, investigation complexity has also increased. Distributed workloads, encrypted communications, SaaS integrations, and limited infrastructure access often restrict visibility. This makes effective cloud forensics investigations more challenging than traditional environments.Logs and alerts provide valuable signals, but they sometimes lack the context needed to confirm incidents…

American AI companies love to say that the US must win the AI arms race, or China will.Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, and Meta have all invoked the threat of a Chinese victory to justify speeding ahead on AI development, seemingly no matter what. The argument is simple: Whoever pulls ahead in building the most powerful AI could be the global superpower for a long, long time. China’s authoritarian government suppresses dissent, surveils its citizens, and answers to no one. We cannot let that model win.And to be clear — we shouldn’t. The Chinese Communist Party’s human rights abuses are real…
Threat hunters have called attention to a new campaign as part of which bad actors masqueraded as fake IT support to deliver the Havoc command-and-control (C2) framework as a precursor to data exfiltration or ransomware attack. The intrusions, identified by Huntress last month across five partner organizations, involved the threat actors using email spam as lures, followed by a phone call from an IT desk that activates a layered malware delivery pipeline. “In one organization, the adversary moved from initial access to nine additional endpoints over the course of eleven hours, deploying a mix of custom Havoc Demon payloads and…
Google LLC today debuted Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite, the latest addition to its Gemini series of multimodal artificial intelligence models. The company’s engineers developed the algorithm with cost-efficiency in mind. Gemini 3.1 Pro, Google’s most capable model, starts at $2 per million input tokens and $18 per million output tokens. Those rates increase significantly for demanding workloads. Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite is priced $0.25 per million input tokens, while generating a million output tokens costs $1.50. Google says that the algorithm is also faster than other Gemini models. In an internal test, the company compared it against Gemini 2.5 Flash, an earlier…
There are some jobs human bodies just weren’t meant to do. Unloading trucks and shipping containers is a repetitive, grueling task — and a big reason warehouse injury rates are more than twice the national average. The Pickle Robot Company wants its machines to do the heavy lifting. The company’s one-armed robots autonomously unload trailers, picking up boxes weighing up to 50 pounds and placing them onto onboard conveyor belts for warehouses of all types. The company name, an homage to The Apple Computer Company, hints at the ambitions of founders AJ Meyer ’09, Ariana Eisenstein ’15, SM ’16, and Dan Paluska…
The indie gaming news has been flying out of Nintendo’s event today at a rapid-fire pace. One of the announcements came from rhythm game Ratatan, which will release on July 16. The title will be arriving that day on the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It’s already been available on PC since September as an early access game.Unfortunately, readers may notice that the original Switch isn’t on that list, which is not an oversight. “At this time, we have determined that the multiplayer experience on Nintendo Switch has not yet reached the quality level we aim…
Is Apple’s “set servers up” plea to the tech powerhouse just about renting compute? Inside Apple’s deepening reliance on Google’s Gemini Tech fanatics seem to think that Apple really fumbled its AI implementation. Especially as it has asked Google to start setting up servers across its data centers to run the newer models of Siri. It’s a more futuristic plea. So, what does Apple currently do? The company forwards its more complex AI queries to its Private Cloud Compute. It’s inherently Apple’s- running on Apple’s servers using Apple’s silicon chips. It seems like a ray of hope for the tech…
Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is where the tech world’s biggest companies get together to show off their latest gadgets. At MWC 2026 we’ve seen some amazing products, including the Leica Leitzphone by Xiaomi and the super skinny Honor Magic V6 foldable phone. But the show always provides a wealth of quirky concept devices and this year is no exception. From wild cars to transforming phones, these are the most exciting concepts we’ve seen on the MWC show floor so far. The Vision GT looks amazing but I don’t think I’ll ever get to drive one.
