The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) at MIT has awarded funding to eight new research studies to understand how artificial intelligence innovations can be used in the fight against poverty through its new Project AI Evidence. The age of AI has brought wide-ranging optimism and skepticism about its effects on society. To realize AI’s full potential, Project AI Evidence (PAIE) will identify which AI solutions work and for whom, and scale only the most effective, inclusive, and responsible solutions — while scaling down those that may potentially cause harm.PAIE will generate evidence on what works by connecting governments, tech…
Cybersecurity researchers have discovered a malicious Google Chrome extension that’s designed to steal data associated with Meta Business Suite and Facebook Business Manager. The extension, named CL Suite by @CLMasters (ID: jkphinfhmfkckkcnifhjiplhfoiefffl), is marketed as a way to scrape Meta Business Suite data, remove verification pop-ups, and generate two-factor authentication (2FA) codes. The extension has 33 users as of writing. It was first uploaded to the Chrome Web Store on March 1, 2025. However, the browser add-on also exfiltrates TOTP codes for Facebook and Meta Business accounts, Business Manager contact lists, and analytics data to infrastructure controlled by the threat…
Windows 11 is getting a new security mode meant to block risky software before it can dig into the system, especially the kind that hides behind drivers and background services. Microsoft calls it Windows Baseline Security Mode. It turns integrity safeguards on by default, so signed apps, services, and drivers are the ones that run. If something is unsigned, Windows can stop it. You can still approve exceptions when you need to keep a legitimate tool working. Microsoft is also pushing User Transparency and Consent. Windows will start prompting you when an app reaches for device or data access, and…

After a long time of resisting significant price drops, the Asus Zenbook S 16 has finally dropped down to $1,000, which is $500 off its retail price. It’s normal for laptops to dip in price toward the end of their lifespan, close to when an update comes out. It even gets fantastic battery life, on par with a MacBook. Speaking of MacBooks, this Zenbook is the…
I mean, watermarks aren’t a big deal, are they? They’re just a little logo in the corner. But, if you’ve poured hours into creating a video and someone else puts their watermark on it, you know how frustrating that can be. It’s like you just baked a cake and someone else signed their name on it.Creators weren’t having it. Businesses weren’t either. So, there was a quiet little movement toward AI video software that doesn’t force you to sacrifice your artistic license or your branding. No watermark. No concessions. Just quality. The Bottom LineFolks just want their freedom. Period. They want…
Hello Cyber Builders 🖖Cybersecurity marketing is undergoing a transformation. It’s also reshaping how the industry connects with its audience. Why traditional cybersecurity marketing feels repetitive, fear-driven, and visually indistinguishable. How Wiz’s pop‑art approach kicked off a new, brighter, more welcoming…
The circadian rhythm, also known as the biological clock, plays a crucial role in our body’s functioning. When people don’t get regular sleep or have erratic sleeping patterns, it can disrupt the body’s rhythm. This can lead to people feeling tired and not being able to perform optimally. Over the years, various studies have tried to understand the circadian rhythm’s role on our health, and the latest one from the University of Exeter, United Kingdom has some interesting findings. In a paper published in the European Heart Journal, researchers have revealed that getting regular sleep between 10 pm and 11…
A new report out today from the Google Threat Intelligence Group is warning that threat actors are moving beyond casual experimentation with artificial intelligence and are now beginning to integrate AI directly into operational attack workflows. The report focuses in part on abuse and targeting of Google’s own Gemini models, underscoring how generative AI systems are increasingly being tested, probed and, in some cases, incorporated into malicious tooling. Google’s researchers observed some malware families making direct application programming calls to Gemini during execution. Notably, the strains dynamically request generated source code from the model to carry out specific tasks, rather…
This web scraper runs entirely in your browser and is perfect for creating training data for AI models. It works by reading the website’s sitemap.xml file, making it particularly well-suited for modern platforms like Squarespace and Shopify that automatically generate sitemaps. The scraper preserves the structure of your content, including headings, paragraphs, lists, and tables, while removing unnecessary elements like navigation menus and footers. It also captures metadata, images, and PDF documents.
